New Blog + New Book
Well, hello there! It’s been a minute! Many of you are new to the blog, but those of you that have been along for the ride will know that I used to post quite a bit. It’s been about five years since I’ve written anything for my own site, and a lot has changed about it…as in everything! I scrapped my old blog, refreshed my site, and now everything smells like a new car!
Speaking of new, I thought there’s no better way to crank the blog back up than by using it to announce my latest book, Between Two Rivers: Photographs and Poems Between the Brazos and the Rio Grande. I’m excited to finally see this project in print and available all over the world. Between Two Rivers is the result of a long-term project poet John Poch and I started several years ago that combines beautiful imagery of the water and land between the Rio Grande in northern New Mexico and the Brazos River as it exits into the Gulf of Mexico and his most eloquent poetry inspired by the very same places. This project encompasses over a decade of photography and poetry, and Texas Tech University Press did a wonderful job in the design and printing. I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed traveling and shooting for this book, even before its genesis.
The book is available on my site, and I’ll even sign it, package it, and ship it your way! I’ll be posting images from it on Instagram, so please follow along if you’re a fan of the Southwest and those waterways that flow southeast from northern New Mexico, often feeding life into what can be at times drought-stricken lands, wildlife, and population centers. Likewise, I’ll be releasing ten prints of some of my favorite images of the book very soon. More on this coming later!
With this, I’ll be back soon! The BLOG is back.
